Ambient Network Architecture
The AN architecture (Fig. 1) includes three main components: the ambient control space (ACS), the ambient connectivity, and the ambient interfaces. The ACS consists of a collection of cooperating functional entities (FEs) that jointly implement the control-layer functions. Some examples are quality of service, context management, media delivery, multiradio access, composition, and network advertisement and discovery. The names of all these FEs are self-explanatory, except the last one, which is discussed in the next paragraph.
