Abstract:
Audible noise (AN) was measured on a variety of conductor bundles at the Shiobara HVDC test line. A new method of AN prediction is proposed based on the test results. The method is applicable not only to bipolar but also monopolar lines. The calculated results obtained by this method can explain the effects of pole spacing and number of subconductors on AN levels. The result of a subjective evaluation test on AN from DC lines is also reported.
