Combined Rotating-element Electric-field Vector (CREV) Method for nearfield Calibration of Phased Array Antenna

Base on the classic REV method, a new combined REV method is proposed for the calibration of large-scale phase array. Different from the classical method, the new method synchronously alters the phases of a group of elements by their phaseshifters. When this method is used in nearfield calibration, the signal-to-noise ratio is improved and the dynamic range of the signal is limited, and higher precision could be achieved.

Phased array antenna can provide high gain, electronic steering and achieve dynamic beam forming and find various applications in radar, satellite communication and other areas. However the deterioration of the phases and amplitude may ruin the performance.
