Abstract:

The two Manitoba Hydro 895 km (556 mile) Nelson River dc lines were completed in 1971. Since that time, under various system voltages, radio interference and corona power loss have been measured on these lines and reported on (1) (2). This paper reports on the electrical environmental effect tests conducted in 1979 including coordinated measurements of radio interference, audible noise, electric field, induced voltage, and ion flow.
