I. Introduction
Arrays of optical microemitters and detectors are now starting to be commercially available to fuel the drive toward higher data rates in optically interconnected electronic systems [1], [2]. Adhesive filled microholder with inserted microfiber. Whereas cost-effective one-dimensional arrays of optical connectors are commercially available, two-dimensional (2-D) arrays of low insertion loss are still expensive. This letter proposes a novel method for actively aligning 2-D optical single-mode fiber arrays to an optoelectronic device.
