Abstract:
An alternative compatibility (EMC) test facility is proposed and investigated that has only one radio-frequency (RF) absorber-covered surface, the ground plane itself. The use of an absorber-line site alleviates such serious flaws of existing EMC test facilities as variable product/sensor separation distance, incomplete elevation-angle coverage, and reference ground-plane uncertainty. These problems are examined, the absorber-lined site is described, and experimental verification of its effectiveness is provided.<>
