I. Introduction
In order to attain the energy conservation, emission reduction and sustainable development in aviation, the more/all electric aircraft (MEA/AEA) with electric energy as the primary energy has been a good candidate, where the integrated starter/generator system (ISGS) serves as the critical technology of the high-performance aircraft power system [1]–[3]. Three-stage synchronous machine (TSSM) is commonly employed as an alternator for aviation power system due to its high reliability and established voltage regulation technology. Fig. 1 shows the structure of the TSSM, the permanent magnet pre-exciter (PE), main exciter (ME), rotating rectifier (RR) and main generator (MG) arranged in a coaxial manner.
