Abstract:

The reliability and efficiency of power distribution networks are crucial for maintaining uninterrupted services and operational safety. Distribution transformers, which are vital components of these networks, frequently experience failures that lead to widespread outages and safety concerns. Traditional monitoring systems are reactive, focusing on post-failure analysis, which often results in delayed interventions. To address this, a Comprehensive Online Power Status Monitoring System using sensor technology is proposed. This system employs high-precision sensors to monitor critical transformer parameters such as voltage, current, oil temperature, and oil levels in real-time. Data collected from the sensors is transmitted via GSM/4G/5G modules to a cloud-based platform where AI algorithms analyze the data to predict potential failures. The system supports predictive maintenance by identifying anomalies and faults before they occur, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance costs. A dual notification mechanism alerts both service personnel and end-users about faults and power restoration times, enhancing operational transparency and customer satisfaction. This scalable solution is adaptable to various transformer sizes and networks, providing a proactive approach to transformer management. The system integrates with existing power management frameworks, ensuring seamless upgrades and future-proofing. The proposed solution improves power distribution network reliability, reduces operational costs, and optimizes maintenance schedules, making it ideal for modern power infrastructure.
