Abstract:

Work in the mine is considered to present the highest risk of accidents, which is why it is important that measures can be taken to mitigate these risks for the benefit of the physical safety of workers. In this research, we present a method to monitoring workers, based on being able to work with GPS devices, as a demonstration we work with cellular equipment to be able to verify the use and applications of GPS, as a result we have several forms and configurations that can be had, depending on the work mode in the mines, as a recommendation we present different ways of working and using GPS devices, for which it is necessary to work with repeater stations, in the case of a demonstration, we use the mine's communications network to ensure the sending and receiving of the information on the position of workers.

I. Introduction

The work in mines, are considered as one of the tasks that present a higher degree of risk related to physical and mental health, depending on the work to be performed, these tasks can be several, being the ones that present a higher degree of risk those who work in the tunnels, in which case it is necessary to have monitoring mechanisms to monitor the location of personnel. In this context it is necessary to design mechanism to monitor the location of the workers, in this context we find works related to the monitoring of people, these equipments are usually constituted by hardware and software [1]. Most of these designs are related to the transmission of biomedical signals applied to areas where there are deficiencies in the means of information transmission [2]. Most of the reviewed works are related to monitoring commonly used variables, such as fuel levels, current levels, voltage levels, among others, for different uses and applications [3]. The various mechanisms of data transmission are those that send the information via wiring with serial protocols, RS232, RS485, among others; as well as wireless where there are many devices and protocols, such as WIFI, IOT, in its different techniques such as LoRa, Bluetooth and others [4].
