I. Introduction
Throughout history, the Dunhuang murals stand as a precious asset of Chinese culture, representing centuries of cultural growth and artistic brilliance while also reflecting the flourishing of the Silk Road and the blending of Eastern and Western cultures. However, the passage of time, natural erosion, and the impact of human factors are putting this precious cultural heritage to the difficult test. The peeling, fading, or vanishing of the mural surfaces harm the authenticity and recognition of the artworks, leading to the erasure of their historical and cultural significance. Therefore, developing efficient and accurate mural restoration technology has become essential in protecting cultural heritage and passing on historical culture [1].
