Abstract:

In the paper we consider the tasks of designing engineering communications networks under various re-strictions. Since engineering communications are laid on the terrain with various physical and geological factors, natural and situational conditions, it is advisable to take the relia-bility of its functioning as an important criterion. The task of network optimization is considered for the first time in terms of displaying the utility communication along the se-lected routes in a three-dimensional space, taking into account various existing communications and facilities, as well as terrain elevations. The paper presents the problems of network optimization in both continuous and discrete for-mulation. Various indicators of reliability of engineering networks functioning are considered and analyzed.

I. Introduction

A multi-criteria problem associated with the design of engineering communications can be formulated in gen-eral as follows: from a variety of options it is necessary to choose a design solution under given constraints that provides a minimum of total costs. One of important constraints is that that the projected network topology must satisfy a given reliability threshold. Another for-mulation consists in replacing the optimized criterion with reliability (with a transition from minimizing to maximizing the objective function) and replacing the threshold indicator with cost. Such problems are NP-hard, which was investigated [1]. In this paper, the reli-ability indicators of engineering network are analyzed.
