Abstract:

In today’s era, technology is being used in various fields. The exercise of making various cities more advanced has been done by the government for a long time. Efficient data communication and reliable network play an important role in these technological advances. It is very important for the network to be efficient to bring and carry data from one place to another and the efficiency of the network depends on the protocols being followed in the network. This paper explicitly focuses on the protocols of the Low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) family such as traditional LEACH, LEACH-centralized (LEACH-C) and compared with LEACH-optimized (LEACH-OP), by which the shortcomings of Cluster Head (CH) selection, energy consumption in excess. The analysis shows that, LEACH-OP outperforms in terms of maximum alive nodes, least dead nodes, maximum transfer of data packets, maximum energy saving, and long term operation capability.

I. Introduction

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a very large network consisting of many small nodes, in which the ability of sensing, computing is found on a large scale [1]. Due to characteristics like self-contain, self and automated deployment, real time operations and self-monitoring etc. of WSN, it is being used and liked globally [16]. The always diminishing expense of Wireless Sensor Network’s (WSNs) is working with their organization to screen and control any region, even in extreme circumstances. It affirms the significant job of WSNs in moulding the Internet of things (IoT) or Internet of Everything (IoE) world view. WSNs can likewise be sent to screen street action to give information to drivers, in this way empowering better course arranging, blockage evasion and more secure driving [7]. Smart city is a metropolitan climate that consolidates advanced sensor, data and correspondence innovations help to effectively oversee city resources [9]. Sensor networks are significant parts of smart cities in light of the fact that the information they gather is central to these administrations [3]. The WSNs are built using small or tiny sensors, thereby reducing the cost of electricity consumption as well as minimizing the cost of maintenance. The management of waste; water/air/sound pollution management, control and monitoring; management of city surveillance, traffic management, transportation etc, by collecting data from sensors available in the network [13]. These smart megacity administrations do not just need the different slice- edge inventions examined then yet also need solid and strong systems administration and correspondence fabrics to empower the productive trade of dispatches among the colourful corridors of the fabrics that offer specific support. Shrewd megacity administrations are planned at colourful scales, which bear different systems administration and correspondence advancements for their prosecution and conditioning [10]. Also, unique association and correspondence models and approaches can be used for brilliant megacity administrations [6].
