Dong Ming (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from Tianjin University (TJU), Tianjin, China, in 1999 and 2004, respectively.
From 2002 to 2003, he was a Research Associate with the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. From 2005 to 2006, he was a Visiting Scholar with the Division of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, University of Dundee, Dundee, U.K. In 2006, he joined the College of Precision Instruments and Optoelectronics Engineering, TJU, Philadelphia, PA, USA,, as a Faculty Member, where he has been a Full Professor of Biomedical Engineering, since 2011. He is currently the Chair Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Director of Tianjin Neural Engineering Center and the Academy of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine, TJU. He has managed almost 20 national and international research projects. His current research interests include neural engineering, rehabilitation engineering, sports science, biomedical instrumentation, and signal/image processing, especially in brain-computer interface, functional electrical stimulation, and gait analysis.
Dr. Ming is the chair of the IEEE-EMBS Tianjin Chapter.
