1. Introduction
Data centres play an important role in next-generation cloud integrated radio access networks. This is because it hosts content that subscribers seek to access via mobile and wireless communication networks. The quest to minimize the operational costs (cooling costs) has led to the consideration of hosting future data centres in non-terrestrial locations. In this regard, the locations that have been identified are the stratosphere [1]–[2], underwater [3]–[4], and space [5]–[6]. The citing of the future data centre in non - terrestrial locations has also received attention in initiatives such as EU ASCEND [7 - 81, Project Natick r9], Subsea Cloud r10], and Highlander [11].
