I. Introduction
There are many useful methods to promote foreign language learning. One of the effective ways to learn a new language is through interactions with others, including parents, teachers, peers, and digital technologies, such as interactive multimedia-based software programs. Learners can receive realtime feedback after having interactions with others, which is conducive to enhancing language skills through interactions with Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots [1] [2]. Previous studies have indicated many potential benefits in text-based human-computer interactions to modify their original input [3]. Such opportunities, aimed at English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners, create a favorable environment for engaging in computer interactions with chatbots within EFL learning environments [4]–[6]. Specifically, chatbots can promote learners' engagement and motivation in technology-enhanced language learning because students can experience authentic language interactions with AI [7] [8]. Furthermore, chatbots can give personal and adaptive responses to individual user's questions or prompts for optimizing learning [1] [4] [5].
