Abstract:

Sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (SAHS) is an important medical condition that happens during sleep. The radar-based method is proven to detect the sleep-disordered breathing non-contact. But it cannot deal with some complex situation. In this paper, a sleep apnea and hypopnea detection method is realized by fusing the radar and pulse oximeter sensors. Two kinds of fusion models have been applied. The results show that the fusion models outperform the single radar sensor-based detection method. Therefore, the fusion method can be potentially used for in-home sleep apnea tests.
