I. Introduction
Electric vehicles (EVs) are battery-powered cars that run on electricity. In the stead of an internal combustion engine (ICE), they utilize an electric motor, an inverter, and a battery pack for propulsion. EVs can be categorized into three groups depending on the extent to which electricity is utilized as the energy source. They are battery EVs (BEVs), plug-in hybrid EVs (PHEVs), and hybrid EVs (HEVs) [1].
