Abstract:

This paper discusses the optimization problem of e-commerce logistics networks, which mainly includes four issues: 1) establishing a model for predicting the volume of goods on each route; 2) calculating and distributing the volume of goods on the DC5-related routes to achieve load balancing on each route; 3) optimizing the logistics network structure to achieve load balancing on each route while reducing the number of routes with significant changes in transportation volume; 4) evaluating the importance of logistics sites and routes, proposing improvement plans, including the construction of new logistics sites and routes, and considering the robustness of the network. For issue 1, the paper predicts the volume of goods on each route and presents specific predictions for each route. For issue 2, linear programming or integer programming models are used to allocate the volume of goods on DC5-related routes, calculating the number of routes affected by changes in transportation volume due to the closure of DC5 and the network load. For issue 3, the allocation plan is optimized, and the number of routes affected by changes in transportation volume due to the closure of DC9 and the network load is calculated, providing the quantity, volume of goods, and load during normal and abnormal flow, and calculating the increase or decrease in the number of routes on a daily basis. For issue 4, the importance of logistics sites and routes is evaluated, improvement plans are proposed, including the construction of new logistics sites and routes.

I. Introduction

An e-commerce logistics network is composed of logistics sites and transportation routes, with its cargo volume being influenced by various factors such as holidays and unforeseen events. Predicting cargo volume is essential for cost reduction and efficiency improvement, especially during site shutdowns. Designing logistics network adjustment plans can reduce damage to the logistics network and ensure its normal operation, which is an important means of optimizing e-commerce logistics networks. For e-commerce companies, an efficient logistics network is crucial for their business development. In an e-commerce logistics network, various factors can affect the transportation of goods, such as unexpected events, climate change, etc., which can result in changes in cargo volume. Therefore, accurate prediction of cargo volume is key to ensuring normal operation and improving efficiency for e-commerce logistics companies. Site shutdowns are a common issue that e-commerce logistics companies often encounter, especially during holidays and other special periods. If timely measures are not taken, it can lead to a backlog of goods, affecting transportation efficiency and customer experience. Therefore, designing logistics network adjustment plans can help companies ensure normal transportation of goods during site shutdowns, reducing damage to the logistics network.
