Abstract:

This paper presents the problem of equivalent circuit modelling based on of frequency characteristics measurements. Designed and conducted experiment concerned the use of vector fitting method to approximate the frequency characteristics of the current transformer and the implementation of the equivalent circuit model based on the obtained results for simulation purpose. Scope of research included defining purpose and area of studies, designing and performing measurements, selecting a method for characteristics approximation and building an equivalent circuit model.

I. Introduction

Along with the development of the power system, more and more importance is attached to its reliability and reduction of installation costs, which is why we can observe a trend towards the introduction of smart transmission grids. They are aimed at reducing the consumption of electricity, ensuring safe transmission and distribution of this energy and adapting to the needs of consumers, ensuring high quality indicators. An example of such an implementation can be found in the article [1], describing a pilot project of building a smart power grid. The trend is also visible in industrial installations, where energy consumption measurement systems are used more and more often and are optimized in relation to this indicator.
