Weijia Jia (Fellow, IEEE) received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in computer science from Center South University, Changsha, China, in 1982 and 1984, respectively, and the Master of Applied Science and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from the Polytechnic Faculty of Mons, Mons, Belgium, in 1992 and 1993, respectively.
He is currently a Chair Professor with the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Future Networks, Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China, and UIC, Zhuhai, China. He has been a Zhiyuan Chair Professor with Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China. From 1995 and 2013, he worked with the Computer Science Department, City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, as a Full Professor. His research interests include smart city; next generation IoT, knowledge graph constructions; multicast and anycast QoS routing protocols, wireless sensor networks, and distributed systems.
Dr. Jia received the 2013 China 1000 Talent Award from Shanghai Jiaotong University. From 1993 to 1995, he joined the German National Research Center for Information Science (GMD) in Bonn (St. Augustine) as Research Fellow. He is the member of ACM.
