I. Introduction
In many decades, designers of power converters have had to deal with increasingly demanding requirements of high power density, high efficiency, and low-cost design. However, practical designers are obviously facing multiple options for design parameters. Choosing a design option greatly depends on the designer’s experience. Therefore, it is nearly impossible for them to guarantee that their design option is the best, even though the power converter is well analyzed. In order to reach the optimal design, a variety of optimization algorithms have been proposed and demonstrated their effectiveness in the literature.
