I. Introduction
Pipeline transport, with low cost, high efficiency, and strong stability, is a vital part of the transportation industry and presents bright prospects. Especially in the energy transportation industry, pipelines have been widely used for transporting oil and gas [1]. Unfortunately, owing to aging, corrosion, and human or environmental effects, leak accidents cannot be avoided entirely, which threatens the safe and reliable operation of the pipeline system [2]. Natural gas gathering pipelines take charge of transporting crude gas from production wells to processing stations, which play a crucial role in the production of natural gas [3]. Therefore, developing effective leak detection methods for gathering pipelines is critical to guarantee the safe and reliable transportation of natural gas.
