I. Introduction
In colocated multiple-input–multiple-output (MIMO) radar, direction finding is a critical task that has been frequently discussed [1], [2]. Various estimation strategies have been reported in the past decades, encompassing the spatial spectrum peak searching method [3], [4], estimation signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) [5], Bayesian estimator [6], [7], sparsity-aware strategy [8], [9], tensor-based approach [10], [11], [12], [13], [14], [15]. Comparatively speaking, tensor-based algorithms usually exhibit better estimation accuracy than the traditional matrix-based one, as the former can obtain “tensor gain” from the algebraic nature of the array measurement.
