The Peer Project Learning (PPL) methodology is presented as a new active learning method based on Peer Instruction (IP) model and project-based learning (PBL). The methodological structure of PPL is shown, detailing its components, which are separated by stages, so that the instructional designs of this methodology can be used as educational strategies that allow students to engage an active learn...Show More
New measurements of excess enthalpy of binary mixtures containing 1-hexene, Cyclohexane and 2,2,4-Trimethylpentane at 313.15 K are reported in this work, by using a quasi-isothermal calorimeter at atmospheric pressure. The measured data of HE has been fitted using NRTL and UNIQUAC models, and Redlich-Kister mathematical equation. All the studied binary mixtures show an endothermic behavior.Show More
This work reports new estimation of PC-SAFT equation of state parameters of ethanol, 1-propanol, 1-butanol, 1-nonanol. This parameters are obtained by fitting experimental vapor pressure and liquid density data from 298.15 K to 494.5 K. The estimated parameters are used to validate the experimental density data found in literarture. In this work, we predict the density of alcohols at high pressure...Show More
The paper presents the experience of a structured problem-based learning approach to the teaching of a study module on Thermodynamics in the second year of an Electronic Engineering graduate program at the University of Burgos. In the light of the experience gained, a list of recommendations is presented that might prove of interest to academics interested in pursuing a similar approach.Show More
In recent years, the possibilities for distance teaching in engineering education have increased tremendously. The widespread availability of the Internet has allowed the use of rich media over long distances. As visual connectivity improves, an opportunity to enrich and rethink the place of learning design in on-line and distance education is presenting itself. This paper presents a case study of...Show More
Problem-based learning has been at the core of significant developments in engineering education in recent years. This term refers to any learning environment in which the problem drives the learning, because it is posed in such a way that students realize they need to acquire new knowledge before the problem can be solved. This paper presents the experience of a structured problem-based learning ...Show More
