Biography
Ryan D. Sochol received the B.S. degree from Northwestern University in 2006, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley, Berkeley, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, with Doctoral Minors in bioengineering and public health. He is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering with the University of Maryland, College Park. His Bioinspired Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory pioneers micro/nanoscale additive manufacturing or “3D Printing” strategies for biomedical and soft robotic applications. His postdoctoral training spanned the Harvard–MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology, Harvard Medical School, Brigham & Women’s Hospital, UC Berkeley, and the University of Tokyo.
