Biography

Philip N. Ji (M'02-SM'12) is a Senior Research Staff Member at NEC Laboratories America, Princeton, NJ, USA, where he has been researching optical switching, networking, and transport technologies since 2001. Before that he engaged in special polymer optical fiber and fiber optic device research at the University of New South Wales, Australia, where he received B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and telecommunications. His research interests include WDM switching node and network architecture, fiber optic devices for communication, high-speed and high-capacity optical transmission, optical interconnects for the data center, and special optical fiber.
