Biography
Leo P. Ligthart (M'94–SM'95) received the Doctor of Technology degree from the Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, in 1985, the Doctorate degree (honoris causa) from the Moscow State Technical University of Civil Aviation, Moscow, Russia, in 1999, and the Doctorate degree (honoris causa) from the Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics, Tomsk, Russia, in 2001.,Since 1994, he has been the Director of the International Research Center for Telecommunications-Transmission and Radar, Delft University of Technology. His principal areas of specialization include antennas and propagation, radar, and remote sensing, in addition to satellite, mobile, and radio communications.(Based on document published on 7 August 2002).
