Biography
Pak L. Chu (M'78) was born in Guangdong, China, on November 12, 1940, and died in Sydney, Australia, on March 15, 2008. He received his secondary education in Hong Kong and tertiary education in Australia from the School of Electrical Engineering, University of New South Wales, Australia.,After a short stint in the industry, he returned to the university and moved up the ladder until he was a Full Professor and Head of the Optical Communications Group. He retired from the University of New South Wales in 2001 and became an Emeritus Professor of the university. In 2001, he joined the City University of Hong Kong as a Chair Professor of the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Director of the Optoelectronics Research Centre. He retire...
