Biography
Maria Dias Bellar (S'90–M'01) was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She received the B.Sc. degree in electronics engineering and the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, in 1986 and 1989, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, in 2000.,Since 1990, she has been with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering, State University of Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, where, since 2001, she has been an Associate Professor.
