Biography

Dan Penache was born in Constanta, Romania, in 1970. He received the M.Sc. degree in physics from Bucharest University, Bucharest, Romania, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in physics from Darmstadt Technical University, Darmstadt, Germany, in 2002.,From 1994 to 1998, he was a Researcher at the National Institute for Laser Plasma and Radiation Physics, Bucharest, working in the field of low-temperature plasmas. Since 2004, he has been with High Voltage Switchgear Research Centre, AREVA T&D, Villeurbanne, France, as a Research Engineer in charge of the development of new interruption techniques.(Based on document published on 13 August 2007).
