The evaluation of hand function is of great importance to both clinical practice and biomedical research and is frequently evaluated by manual dexterity. Most of the assessment procedures evaluate the gross or the fine dexterity of the hand, but few of them are devoted to the assessment of both. We developed the Virtual Eggs Test (VET): it resembles the task of transporting fragile and robust obje...Show More
This letter proposes an adaptive method for robot-to-human handovers under different scenarios. The method combines Dynamic Movement Primitives (DMP) with Preference Learning (PL) to generate online trajectories that are reactive to human motion, modulating the speed of the robot. The PL allows for tuning the coupling parameters of the DMP, tailoring the interaction to each participant personally,...Show More
One of the challenges in teleoperation is avoiding self-collisions, which is particularly critical in bi-manual systems. Available solutions are usually developed for redundant robots or introduce significant delays during teleoperation. We propose a revised version of the CollisionIK algorithm, dubbed revised_CollisionIK, to solve this issue. The algorithm has been tested in a bi-manual system te...Show More
This paper describes the design of a chip modeling the proximal renal tubule, namely the nephron segment that is most targeted by drug toxicants. The tubule model is based on a 3D convoluted geometry whose printing parameters and Pluronic concentration were optimized to achieve a diameter of 320 μm without discontinuities. A perfusion system guaranteeing a 1 μL/min flow was also integrated. Moreov...Show More
