Biography
Sung Joon Ahn received the BS degree in mechanical design and production engineering from Seoul National University in South Korea in 1985. He received the MS degree in production engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in 1987. He worked as a junior research scientist at the research center of LG Electronics from 1987 to 1990. Since 1991, he has been working as a research scientist for the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart, Germany. His research interests include pattern recognition, optical 3D-measurement, close-range photogrammetry, camera calibration, and 3D-information processing.(Based on document published on 7 August 2002).
