Biography
Matthew Garthwaite (Member, IEEE) received the master’s degree in geophysics from the University of Leicester, Leicester, U.K., in 2005 and the Ph.D. degree in geophysics from the University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K., in 2012.,Since 2012, he has been with Geoscience Australia, first as a geodetic scientist and since 2016 as InSAR Team Lead and Assistant Director for National Geodesy. In this role, Matthew is developing a national-scale capability to leverage satellite radar interferometry (InSAR) for surface deformation products in Australia. His research interests include geodetic and geophysical applications of synthetic aperture radar (SAR), SAR interferometry, and SAR calibration/validation techniques and infrastructure.(Based on document published on 11 June 2020).
