Biography
Wei Ji received the undergraduate degree from Peking University, Beijing, China, in 1980, the M.S. degree in environmental geoscience, and the Ph.D. degree in remote sensing and GIS from the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT, USA, in 1983 and 1991, respectively.,He is a Professor of Geosciences with the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC), Kansas, MO, USA. In 1990 s, he conducted research work at the National Wetlands Research Center of U.S. Geological Survey. Since 1999, he teaches courses in GIS, remote sensing, biogeography, and landscape ecology at UMKC. Over the past three decades, his research interests focused on coastal mapping, wetlands, and land cover change using geospatial methods.(Based on document published on 22 August 2014).
