I. INTRODUCTION
Hot plate welding [1], [2] has become an important process in industry in the joining of thermoplastic parts that have a low softening temperature. Components of various complexity and size produced by extrusion, injection molding or other methods can be fixed together using this technology. Previous research on the hot plate welding of thermoplastic composites has been limited [3]–[5]. The relationships between the weld strength and the process parameters are not yet fully understood.
