Analysis of sine-wave inverter's harmonic contents by simulation

Theoretically analysis of Fourier series is used to predict the different inverter circuit's different SPWM signals' harmonic contents are already existed. This paper presents the theoretical results are verified by orCAD/Pspice simulation and the spectrum analysis of output current indicated the fact that SPWM technique has effective reduction of the harmonic contents. The proposed technique has been successfully applied to single-phase sine wave DC/AC power inverter design.

I. Introduction

Inverter that is used in the field of renewable energy source is square wave or quasi-square wave mostly, it affects the use of inductive loading due to the existence of a large number of high-order harmonic contents. Because sine-wave inverter uses sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) technology, it not only can be extremely effective to carry out harmonic contents suppression but also can be good at dynamic response and obvious advantages in the frequency, efficiency and so on, it is widely applied and has development prospects. Therefore it is of great significance for harmonic contents analysis of SPWM waveform.
