I. Introduction
Portable devices surrounded everyday life in recent years as they offer extensive application possibilities and user experience. Internet of Things (IoT), Internet of Everything (IoE), smart homes, vehicles, mobile phones, implanted and wearable devices all require wireless connectivity to perform their functions. Since portable devices are operated from a limited energy source, low power consumption is of utmost importance. Wireless radio is the most power-hungry block in most of these systems and requires special care to maximize operation time before an intervention is needed. Therefore, the wireless radio must be activated only when a data transfer is most likely to be successful.
