Harmonic Behavioral Model in RF Domain for Short-Wave Power Amplifier

The harmonic interference has always been the key problem for the application of short-wave transmitters. Digital harmonic cancellation (HC) is a significant technology to reduce the harmonic distortions of transmitter. And accurate harmonic model is the basis of digital HC, especially the radio-frequency (RF) domain harmonic model. Therefore, the behavior model of harmonic signals in RF domain is given in this paper, and this model can characterize not only single harmonic distortion, but also multiple harmonics of different multiple-frequencies. For verifying the feasibility of the RF harmonic model, the appropriate cancelling signal which is obtained by iterative learning control is modeled by the proposed model to complete the HC. The experimental results show that the harmonic distortions all can be suppressed below -63 dB below carrier (dBc).
