A Non-isolated Ultra Step-up Converter Based on Switched Inductors and Conventional Boost Converter

This study proposes a step-up converter combining three modified boost converters and a voltage multiplier cell (VMC). The proposed converter provides high voltage gain at a small duty cycle value. Such a small duty cycle decreases voltage and current stress on semiconductors, leading to the usage of components with lower voltage and current rates. Thus, employing switches with low resistance and diodes with small forward voltage is attainable. Moreover, semiconductors' voltage and current stress, besides inductors' current and capacitors' voltage, are extracted. Moreover, the theoretical analysis includes CCM, DCM, and efficiency is surveyed. The non-ideal voltage gain of the proposed converter is compared with other references. Finally, the simulation results are investigated to confirm the converter performance.
