Cavity-Backed Slot Loaded Substrate Integrated Waveguide Self-Diplexing Antenna for C Band Applications

This paper proposed a cavity-backed slot loaded substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) self-diplexing antenna. The proposed antenna consists of a rectangular slot backed by a SIW cavity. The proposed antenna resonates at two distinct frequencies and is fed by two separate offset inset microstrip lines. The various parameters like return loss, gain, radiation efficiency, and the E-plane and the H-plane radiation patterns, etc. are investigated for the antenna. The antenna resonates at two distinct frequencies of 6.5 GHz and 7 GHz with a total gain of 4.8 dBi and 6.4 dBi in the broadside direction, respectively. More than 30 dB of isolation is obtained between the two input feed ports, which is desirable for achieving diplexing property.
