Research on Fault Location of the Medium and Low Voltage Distribution Network Based on Sparrow Search Algorithm

It is of difficulty to locate the fault of the medium and low voltage distribution network, this study introduces a fault location method based on sparrow search algorithm. Firstly, an integer programming fault model for the medium and low voltage distribution network is constructed, which is based on the current limit information uploaded from the feeder terminal unit, the complex medium and low voltage distribution network structure equivalents an integer fault vector. Secondly, aiming solve the problem of the fault location in the medium and low voltage distribution network under different conditions, a new fitness function is constructed, sparrow search algorithm (SSA) used for locating the fault according to the equivalent fault vector. The fault location method is based on the orientation of the fault current, and the distributed generator (DG) is not considered under the fault site of the medium and low voltage distribution network. Finally, simulation's outcomes indicate that the proposed method has higher correctness, faster convergence speed and higher fault-tolerant ability compared with other intelligent algorithms.
