A Multi-band Metal-frame Antenna for Wi-Fi 6E System in a Terminal Device

In this paper, we propose a Wi-Fi 6E multi-band 2×2 multi-input multi-output (MIMO) antenna in a 5G terminal device. With the use of L-shaped slit and the coupled-feed metal frame, multi resonant modes close to 2.45 / 5.5 / 6.5 GHz band are excited to meet the specifications of Wi-Fi 6E system. And, the obtained impedance bandwidth across the operating bands can reach about 100 / 800 / 1200 MHz with the measured peak gains and antenna efficiencies close to 3.6 / 3.9 / 4.7 dBi and 60 / 73 / 70 % across 2.45 / 5.5 / 6.5 GHz bands, respectively.
