How to Use Auto-Adaptive Detection Algorithm and Area Under the Curve for Better Patients' Evaluation in a Continuous Glucose Monitoring Sensors Based Decision Expert System

The use of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensors, in most cases portable and miniaturized, has become a standard routine practice in management and treatment of patients with type 1 diabetes. The main focus of this article is the auto-adaptive detection algorithm implemented to detect and report, without human intervention, every glucose increase episode associated with a meal intake. Another subject paper, after explaining the expert system's architecture, is to briefly present how the area under the curve (AUC) calculated by numerical approximation is used as a triggering event for the expert system to modify the therapy protocol and for medical staff and patients alerting and real time notifications.
