Improved Pulsating Signal Injection Based Sensorless Control of Dual Three Phase IPMSMs Considering Inductance Asymmetry

Since the last decade, dual three phase (DTP) interior permanent magnet synchronous machine (IPMSM) becomes increasingly popular. For dual three phase IPMSMs, most conventional sensorless control methods only consider symmetrical parameters. Therefore, based on DTP IPMSM, this article investigates high frequency pulsating sinusoidal signal injection based sensorless control under inductance asymmetry and proposes a method to compensate the second order harmonic position error because of inductance asymmetry. The proposed suppression method is validated experimentally.
