Research on engine intelligent control system of a series hybrid electric vehicle

In order to analyse the control strategy of engine in one series hybrid electric vehicle, the experiments are conducted on turning hub bench. Results shows that the high-efficiency working area of the engine in the charging condition is 2200rpm, and the specific fuel consumption is close to 220g/kWh. If the motor or battery capacity is small, the vehicle is prone to insufficient power output in the high speed and high load condition. The start-stop strategy of the test vehicle can be divided into four types. The control of exhaust emission and post-processor temperature is still one of the key factors determining start-stop of the series hybrid engine.
