Discrete-time optimization of current-sensor-less control for a high-frequency all-SiC CSI converter

This paper proposes the controller design for a current source inverter using only voltage-sensors on the output. The inverter is intended for application with a high-speed electrical machine and is based on the use of wide-band-gap semiconductor technology operating at high switching frequencies. Current source inverters require additional sensors compared to well-known voltage source inverters. Recently, by taking advantage of the high-speed switching performance of wide-band-gap semiconductor, a simple and robust control design method without voltage sensing have been proposed. Based on this recent work, this paper proposes the simplified current-sensor-less controller of the CSI-fed PMSM. The benefits of this approach compared to recent alternative solutions are discussed in detail.
