Backstepping and ADRC control performances applied to Wind Turbine

This paper represents a contribution for the modelling and dynamic control of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Turbine (WT). The control of this system has always been a challenge to optimise the energy captured by wind turbine as well as to ensure its stability and reliability. In this context, a comparative analysis between Active Disturbance Rejection Control and Backstepping Control is performed. Simulations obtained by means of MATLAB/Simulink Software Environment have shown satisfying results for both controllers in terms of robustness and reference tracking performances.
