Sampling Criteria for 3-D Holographic Millimeter Wave Imaging

This paper presents more precise sampling criteria for 3-D holographic millimeter wave imaging. Firstly, spatial and frequency sampling criteria are derived according to the Nyquist sampling theorem. The sampling criteria are more precise since the imaging distance, the length of the synthesis antenna aperture, and the wavelength are taken into account. The sampling intervals of the spatial sampling are larger than
$\lambda/4$
. Hence, the results can provide guidance for the design of the antenna array for millimeter wave imaging system.
