Anisotropic 2-bit Low-RCS Meta-coatings with Improved Diffusion Scattering

Blocks of flat coding low-RCS 2-bit meta-coatings (MCs) with modified anisotropic anti-phase modules of non-square-shaped forms are suggested to provide greater scattering diffusion. The scattering characteristics of three MCs with non-square-shaped modules are collated with the characteristics of a meta-coating with square-shaped modules. The MCs consist of dumbbell-shaped form meta-particles. They are irradiated with linear and circular polarized waves. It is shown that the bistatic RCS diagrams of the MCs with non-square-shaped modules fill the front half-sphere more evenly. The proposed blocks of the MCs can be used as part of meta-coatings for electromagnetic masking locally flat metal surfaces in X- and Ku-bands.
