Determining the Optimal Parameters of a Terahertz Radiation Acousto-Optic Deflector Using a Sectioned Ultrasound Transducer

The operation of a terahertz radiation acousto-optic (AO) deflector equipped with a sectioned ultrasound transducer was simulated. The phase shift of the signal between adjacent sections was chosen equal to $\pi$, while the transducer length (8 cm) and sound power (1W) were fixed. The effect of the number of sections on the number of resolvable spots of the AO deflector and on its diffraction efficiency was investigated. The optimal parameters of the ultrasound transducer were determined.
